Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.

Review machine and equipment drawings, manufacturer manuals and other technical data for fluid power systems specifications 
Determine performance and production requirements expected from fluid power equipment 
Determine if any commissioning or modification of fluid power systems is required 
Determine relevant regulatory requirements 
Inspect site and equipment to confirm or determine suitability, availability of other services and control requirements 
Produce or review fluid power management schedule, including any required installation, commissioning, modification or maintenance requirements 
Distribute and discuss drawings, schedules, and major materials and equipment with team 
Arrange for request for further information (RFIs) with designers, where required 
Brief team on key compliance and risk factors, including regulatory, work health and safety (WHS) and environmental sustainability requirements 
Agree with team on critical control points and reporting requirements 
Supervise machine and equipment shutdowns required for task 
Confirm availability of equipment components and materials for scheduled fluid power tasks 
Check and determine that supply of services to work is adequate for task commencement 
Ensure all tradespersons have correct drawings 
Establish procedures to ensure assembly and connections meet drawing specifications 
Ensure electrical, fluid power and control systems and circuits are consistent with specifications and regulations 
Identify problems and contingencies and establish and rectify root cause 
Conduct final check to ensure completed work is consistent with drawings, manufacturer manuals and any regulatory requirements 
Conduct test run of equipment and system 
Identify and correct any malfunctions or errors in required output 
Brief client and operators on machine or equipment operation after completion of work 
Prepare and submit any required reports on installation, commissioning or modification in accordance with organisational procedures
